The USS Arizona Memorial stands as a somber reminder of the tragedies of World War II. Located in Pearl Harbor, just thirty minutes from the Ko Olina Beach Villas and Resort, the USS Arizona is a timeless memorial to the earliest victims of the war.
The memorial is built atop the fallen USS Arizona, a sunken battleship and final resting place for over 1,700 US soldiers. The Arizona was fatally attacked on December 7, 1941 by Japanese troops. In 1949, construction began to erect a memorial to honor the fallen, and today the memorial stands as a reminder of wartime chaos and post-war strength and recovery.
Admission is free for up to 2,000 visitors per day. Tours take place from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm daily. For more information, check out http://www.nps.gov/valr/index.htm.
