The Arts District Merchants Association is hosting the annual Mardi Gras Festival in Honolulu, between Nu’uanu Avenue and Hotel Street, this evening, February 21.  The event will include a variety of festive features, including traditional New Orleans food favorites, Samba parades and elaborate, decorative floats, a parade performance by the Royal Elephant Brass Band, and a soccer tournament.  There will also be plenty of live music and outdoor dancing with performances on five outdoor stages.

The event is free and open to the public.  The festival will last from 6 to 10 pm.
