The Malaekahana State Recreation Area is one member of Oahu’s extensive state park system. Located off Kamehameha Highway near La’ie town, Malaekahana is about 45 minutes from the Ko Olina Beach Villas.
With tall trees, extensive shade, and a thorough network of picnic tables, Malaekahana is a popular destination for picnic-goers and families. The park also offers views of La’ie Bay on Oahu’s eastern coast along with ample opportunity for body surfing, shallow fishing, and other typical beach activities.
